BADANTES

Promoting Excellence Among Romanian Caregivers Through Vocational Education and Training (VET)

November 2025 – October 2027 | Erasmus+ | KA2 | Cooperation Partnership in VET| Project n. 2025-1-RO01-KA220-VET-000350681

AIM

According to an official statistic of the Prefecture of Italy, in 2022 the number of Romanians residing in Italy was 1.083.771, representing 21% of all foreign residents and being the largest minority in the country. Similarly, in 2022 the Romanian citizens officially residing in Spain were 871.985, representing the second most chosen country to immigrate. Despite these high numbers, few initiatives are carried out at local/national/EU level to recognise the impact of this minority on the society, to promote their social/civic inclusion or foster their access in the labour market.

BADANTES partners will cooperate to implement coordinated actions to addresses INCLUSION & DIVERSITY fostering the social, educational and professional inclusion of Romanian caregivers providing homecare services for seniors in EU countries other than Romania. Through sensitization activities of VET providers and the general public about the problems faced by RO caregivers the partners determine to break obstacles preventing Romanian caregivers to be integrated in the hosting community.

AIM

The BADANTES project aims to stimulate the CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND ACTIVE PARTICIPATION of the local communities, that will become more aware of the social problems faced by Romanian(RO) caregivers and will be more willing to actively contribute to the creation of inclusive environments and supportive communities that promote fairness and equality. The project will also focus on upskilling, reskilling and empowering RO caregivers through tailored VET opportunities, that will provide them with new and improved job opportunities in the caregiving sector.

OBJECTIVES

The implementation of the BADANTES project aims to support Romanian caregivers in the new host country by:

  1. Raising awareness about the difficulties faced by Romanian caregivers when moving to another country and enhance their integration process
  2. Fostering the professional integration of RO caregivers in other EU countries through the provision of tailored training opportunities
  3. Improving the competencies of RO caregivers to offer high quality homecare services for seniors
  4. Increasing the capacity of the VET sector to provide training courses in line with the labour market and the society needs.

RESULTS

The results will be stemming from four Work Packages

  • WP1: Project Management
  • WP2: Conduction of interviews, creation of a raising-awareness booklet and conduction of dissemination campaigns
  • WP3: Development of training contents and provision of a training course which answers to the professional integration needs of the Romanian caregivers
