SPARK Project Kick-off Meeting in Rome
In February 2026, partners from across Europe met in Rome, Italy for the official kick-off meeting of SPARK, an Erasmus+ project coordinated by Stichting Onderwijs Midden-Limburg (SOML).
The meeting marked the start of our two-year collaboration with a clear goal: to empower teenagers across Europe with stronger financial literacy and STEAM competences through innovative, engaging digital learning tools that prepare them for real-life economic and digital challenges.
During the kick-off, the consortium established a shared understanding of the project’s objectives, expected impact, and overall structure across the four work packages:
• WP1: Project Management
• WP2: Research, Design and Content Foundation
• WP3: Digital Tool Development and Piloting
• WP4: Dissemination and Sustainability
A central focus of the day was Work Package 2, led by Kauno Simono Daukanto progimnazija (KSDP). Partners agreed on the research approach, including the development of student surveys and teacher/mentor interviews that will assess current needs in financial education, STEAM learning, and digital engagement.
A Consortium of Highly Professional and Experienced Partners
SPARK is implemented by six top-level organisations from four countries, each bringing strong expertise in education, innovation, entrepreneurship, and digital learning:

• Stichting Incubator (SI / INQ) – The Netherlands
• youTHrive – Malta
• CRES Centro di Ricerche e Studi Europei – future business – Italy
• San Gorg Preca College, Hamrun Secondary (SGPC) – Malta
• Kauno Simono Daukanto progimnazija (KSDP) – Lithuania
The kick-off meeting provided a solid foundation for the next steps, with partners now moving forward with survey finalisation, data collection, and preparation of the first project outputs.
A promising start to a project designed for long-term European impact!
